Sales Manager

The Sales Manager provides the primary point of contact with the customer, managing existing sales and developing the customer relationship to expand sales. In addition to selling activities, this role will capture and communicate the ‘voice of the customer’ to guide product development, marketing initiatives, and segment expansion. The role works in close cooperation with customer service, marketing, supply chain, product development to assure customer needs are met. The role is responsible for managing customer pricing, profitability, and new development.

RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Aggressive pursuit of new business within defined segment and pricing targets
  • Create sales plans, profit plans and pricing strategies for area of responsibility
  • Create customer / product level forecasts for supply chain planning
  • Develop / maintain pipeline for new sales opportunities
  • Develop sales proposals and presentations to support existing and close new business
  • Deliver professional, executive level presentations promoting the value proposition for the product offering and new products in collaboration with product development team
  • Deliver profitable sales growth year on year through existing and new customers
  • Collaborate with other Sales Managers to maximize overall success and achieve Sontara business growth targets
  • Develop an effective business relationship with internal customers at the various contact levels within the organization
  • Expand presence by establishing information networks with market participants
  • Maintain understanding of competitive market situation at customer and competitor level
  • Identify and communicate new trends, product needs and new product development to strengthen product pipeline
  • Participate in trade shows for lead generation; Provide product training internally and externally
  • Maintain customer sales information within the forecasting system

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor degree is required in Industrial, Textile, Pulp, or Nonwoven engineering / technology or related area
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in an Industrial/Manufacturing Sales environment, with demonstrated ability to grow customer intimacy
  • Experience in the textile/pulp/paper/nonwovens industry desired
  • Experience in segmentation, value-selling and executing sales & marketing strategies
  • High commitment, availability, sales techniques and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment, able to support and gain support cross functionally
  • Excellent oral, written, communication and presentation skills
  • Creative in identifying and defining new business opportunities
  • Independent, self-motivated and systematic working style
  • Fluent in English, Spanish a plus;
  • Willingness to travel, typical 50+% primarily domestic
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Must be able to travel outside of the US
